Hi all

I am looking to add a couple more fishies to my set up (see signature for stock) another couple of sterbai as my two at the mo are a bit jumpy and need chilling out. However I would like one nice centre piece fish that will get along ok with the angels. I got the angels to appease the mrs (I quite like them now tbh) but I wanted something in the way of a colourful gourami or something that will reach about 4 inches ish as a cenre piece fish. What would people recommend so that I have time to research properly before adding?

160 litre tank - ph about 8

Thanks for your time

I've found it's rather pot luck mixing angels and other cichlids or gourami. It just depends on the temperaments of the individual fish.
All it sometimes takes is for one fish to start some aggression, and previously peaceful fish can be transformed into territorial fighters.
Maybe a keyhole cichlid would be worth a try, as they are usually quite peaceful. Also you could try a gourami, but just don't get too attached to it too quickly as there may be fisticuffs with the angels. I expect you would know within a few days whether it was going to generally work out though.

what size is the tank?
IMO angels are great centerpiece fish when the grow,
what size are your angels?

If you clink on the photo link in my signature it showsthe tank with two young angels - they're growing quick mind you. Just wanted a bit of green or blue in there and I love gouramis. Just wondered what else was out there...

what about a krib?
they have great colours,
i find dwarf gouramis very hard to keep,
but not sure if if your tank can have any more fish but im sure someone else will be able to tell your more
