My girlfriend has a little black goldfish (no clue what it's called), and recelntly it has been lethargic and when he poops it comes out clear with a bunch of bubbles in it.. I've never seen that before. Any clues what it is?

I don't really have any specs on her tank because she doesn't monitor that stuff :X . It's a little 3 gallon tank that she does weekly changes on it.

It could be an internal bacterial infection or intestinal worms, or the fish could be swallowing air when it feeds and this is being passed out with its waste. However fish normally fart the air out so probably most likely an internal infection.
Try feeding it on some vegetable matter, peas, pumpkin, zucchini, etc. this can be offered raw or cooked. Try the fish on different things and see if it helps. If it doesn't make any difference in a few days then treat it with an antibacterial medication.

hmm... i googled it after i posted this, and i read in yahoo answers that it's constipation

but i always take yahoo answers with a grain of salt.

Is the fish bloated.
Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down pop out of shell, mush between fingers into small
peices and add to the tank.
Have you seen the goldfish go to the toilet.

he doesn't look any more bloated than normal, but it's not my fish so i don't normally look at it, but the poop comes out like a clear tube with bubbles in it. I haven't seen any real poop come out, but i'll tell my gf to feed him some peas.

It can also be a sign of organ failure.
Try the peas first to see if anything happens.
