my air pump is giving so much air that bubbles are forming and going out of the tank i cant believe it because i havnt put any soap or anything to make this happen! is there any way to get this down should i jsut cut the air pump off or what?

Is it a big airstone or a small airstone and big air pump? You can get valves that you can connect that will alter the flow of air. The tighter you twist it the less air that goes in.

Same as black angel has said you need a gang valve to alter the flow.

I know this is really ghetto but if you need something right away, just slip a bobby pin on the tubing down by the air filter and that should cut the air flow by at least half.

also if your desperate and needing a short term solution you can tie a knott in the air tube, thats what we did before we realised you could buy proper things to slow it down :)

After reading this post, my question is why is the water bubbling that much? Did you throughly wash the gravel? What, if anything, have you put into your water, and did you follow the directions? Have you recently washed out the bowl with soap?

No ive had the tank for about 2 weeks and cleaned it but only with warm water, i tied a knot with the tube and the bubbles are slowly going away
