just got my presurized co2 running on my 50 gallon tank and was wondering how meny bubble per second/min should i be aiming for?

Cheers

depends on your KH value. mine is KH13 on a 40G and i have about 1 bubble per second on a dennerle flipper ladder. test your KH and PH and see how many bubbles gives you 30ppm co2.

set it up for 1 bubble every 2 seconds. give it about a day and test the water. then adjust accordingly.

Your pH will drop when you add co2 into the water. That is the natural reaction. Here is a chart to reference your pH and kH value to... http://www.floridadriftwood.com/page.asp?id=16. You should try to aim for the values in green. You are already at the low end with 12, but if the pH drops to between 6.6 - 6.8 you would be in a great range for co2. I keep mine at 35mg/l with great results.

been adding co2 with the nutrfin units at the moment

cheers for that link by the way :D

I aim for 1-2 bubbles per second with my nutrafin units. I change the mix twice a week on the 15g and once a week on my 10g. I have around 30ppm in both tanks.

That's weird, I get 1 bubbled every two seconds, and my mixture has lasted me two weeks and four days now. I haven't had to change it, and it's still going strong.

EDIT: My BAD! I was posting this too early in the morning. Need stronger coffee!

What I meant to say was one bubble per 2 seconds. Big difference. My mix doesn't last super long, its the temperature in my apartment, it was pretty cold in the Winter. Now, that it's warming up, it looks like it'll last a week now.
