Bubble Nest?

How can you tell the difference between a bubble nest made by a male Betta and just random bubbles clumped together from the filter?
My Betta's tank has a filter, set to a low flow, and with small bubbles being made by it... I can't tell whether or not my Betta has made a bubble nest or not...
I have never seen him making it, but then the filter is on the other side of the tank.
I'm a bit confused

A bubble nest looks like foam. Your betta will probably build his nest beside the tank walls. Hope this helped!

he will also be protecting it and keep checking on it and adding to it
