My friend told me that a bubble filter is a really good filter, i bought an elite 799 air pump along with a bubble filter. Is this a good filter, or should i change to another filter? I really like the look of this filter though and my fish seem to like it because they just spend most of the time near it, it's also doing a good job, but will it work in the future or is it a waste of money?

Do you mean a sponge filter? They're ok, but for display tanks I prefer external filters because they don't take up space inside the aquarium and are better at collecting all the crud. Sponge filters are excellent for fry tanks and breeding tanks though because they are fry-safe.

Do remember to cycle the filter or run it in parallel with an old filter for 6 weeks and clean only in old aquarium water so you do not kill off the bacteria.
