Hi
My reagal tang has been injured by some rock which the urchin dislogged, He has a graze on one side and what looks like a small wound the other side. He is active and feeding well.
What is the best thing to do? Just leave him to heal or is there treatment I can give him.

regards
Priestfield

If you have a setup quarantine tank I'd move him to there for observation and treat with melafix. If you dont have a QT tank, watch him like a hawk to make sure there are no signs of bacterial infections on the wound site.

Hi
Thanks for the advice, So far so good. His wound is getting smaller and it does not seem to bother him at all. He is up there at feeding time with the rest of them and he is out and about all day.
I am looking at a way to secure the rocks better to prevent further accidents but im waiting for him to fully heal as I dont want to stress him further.

Glad its been working :). Melafix is pretty benign. A few corals/inverts dont tolerate it, but fish are all fine :). As for the rocks... Superglue Gel. You can glue the rocks in-place underwater and it still dries. Doesnt stress fish either.
