Browny Water

I put driftwood in my tank a bit ago and ever since the water has been browny coloured i boiled the wood before i put it in. Also the wood is covered in fungus is this normal

Hmmm, i don't know if it's a good idea to put driftwood in that has fungus on it. Somebody else who knows more about using driftwood in tanks needs to answer this.

The browny water is normal, there is something you can do about it if you don't like it but I don't remember what it is.

But the fungus.. was this driftwood you found somewhere or did you buy it? I'm a newbie but I don't think it would be good to have driftwood covered in fungus..
