I've had my tank set up for about a week or two and I'm starting to notice a brown haze forming in my tank. In the tank are Java Fern, Java Moss, Amazon Sword, and Wystreia as well as a pre soaked piece of driftwood. I'm using Flourite and black sand as substrate, a penguin 150 filter, and I have been using two 10 watt 10,000k/Bluelight cfl bulbs(supposed to be for planted tanks). The lights stay on for 8 hours in the day and I haven't started dosing ferts or co2 yet. So any clue what it is. Also my plants aren't doing well any suggestions to help stimulate growth

Thanks,
-Joe

It will probably be tanin from the wood?

I concur. Tannins make water look yucky, but tend to make fish happy. Well . . . certain fish anyway. Lots of fish, but probably not all fish.

I have no idea what I'm talking about and I need more caffeine.

I don't think it's tannins because the wood came from an established aquarium and it wasn't releasing tannins in it
