Brown stuff

Does anyone else get a brown film building up on their decs. I have to take em out and clean em, wondering if this is anything bad that could be causing my tank problems???

It's brown algae, i used to have a problem with it. Then i got a twig catfish and it's all settled now!

It doesnt really do any harm, but it does look bad.

they are diatoms, not an algea
keep current lights on for longer or add more light.

apple snails and ottos love it.

I have the lights on for 11hours a day.
What should i increase it too do you recon, i thought 11 hours would be long enough
I have it on 6:00 to 13:00 then 18:00 to 22:00
