Brown Stuff On My Plants

hi guys, hope u can help, i have brown marks on all my plants, can anyone tell me what it might be?

I have suddenly got a few snails in the tank could it be them?

If you rub the leaf does it come off?

If so it could be diatoms (brown algae)

I doubt the marks will have anything to do with the snails but to be certain on what it was i would need to see a picture.

hi my plants are real. not sure what it is. i have not tried rubbing it yet.
