Brown Staining On Silk Plants

the silk plants in my tank have brown marks on them, probably diatoms.
how do i clean them up and how to stop it recurring?
the tank has recently cycled and the plants were in it during cycling.

I'm not sure what diatoms are.... but its probably algae. You can just scrub it off.

Or get a nerite snail! They don't eat plants but they do clean the algae, some are too big and heavy for plants and will just fall off but the horned ones are small enough to do the job, but make sure you have algae wafers also as they will clean a tank quickly.

I think fake plants you usually have to take out every once in a while and clean them. How long are your lights on?

the lights are on for at least 8 hours, not always full power.
