Brown Spots?

A friend of mine bought some new fish at the weekend one of which is a clown plec it seems to have devleoped brown spots, anyone have a clue what it might be??

He also bought a couple of synodontis which have developed white spot!
Any information would be greatfuly received

How big are the brown spots, i would get on with the whitespot med.

The fish have numerous black to brown spots up to 1 mm (dia) over the skin, gills and eyes.
Look under black spot.

They are the same size as the whitespot

I would treat for the whitespot, turn temp up to 30, also increase aeration as meds and temp will reduce 02 in the water.
Follow instructions carefully as sometimes you have to half dose with certain fish.
Don't forget to remove black carbon.
