brown spots on amazon sword

ghey guys does any one know what these brown spots are??

Looks like nutrient deficiency. Probably iron. Do you have a nutrient-rich substrate? Swords are root-feeders i.e. take a lot of their nutrients from their roots.

Could also be lack of light (but doubt it) - how much do you have?
 
at the mometn i have 2 wpg, and they did have small patche on when i bought tehm i didn;t notice til i got tehm home!

no the substarte is just gravel, is there anything i can add easily to increase nutrient levels?
 
Not sure about availabilty but some fertiliser sticks that you can stick in your gravel near the roots should help.

Sounds like enough light. Do you have CO2?
 
I use the Dupla tablets as shown above and can recomend them. The roots wil soon find them. It's best to breack them into three and then put them far enough under that any bottom dwellers like corys can't dig them up.

Definatly tell a difference with them :thumbs:
