I noticed that one of my Amazon Swords had a leaf that seem to be going brown from the middle out. I'm guessing this is a nutrient deficiency of some kind, anyone know which?

I've got the same problem. The plants do fine with small leaves, but when they get bigger they get patches which are brown in the middle, and yellow around the outside. They vary in size but are on the plants leaves. They are in a 15 US gallon tank with a single 15w bulb.

Usually its iron defficiency when the leaves on sword go brown.

Cheers fella, whats the recommended solution? It looks a bit grim in the tank right now...

Look for a root tab fertiliser with a high iron content and push one into the substrate by the roots of the plant, i found this to be the most direct way of getting nutrients to larger leaved plants when i kept planted tanks.
