I tied down some java moss to a rock about 3 months ago. Since then it has grown slightly but it is not sticking to the rock at all and it is brown in colour compared to everything else in the tank which is green and flourishing.

At first i thought it was algea but i have ruled that out now.

Any ideas?

What about the lighting and the minerals in the tank? How much lighting do you have and what size of tank and also have you tested the water for proper perimeters?
