Brown / Black Spots On Jave Fern

I have 6 java fern plants in my 110ltr tank, and i've noticed there are LOADS of brown/ black spots on the back of the leaves, is this right?

this is where new plantlets are produced from. Eventually roots will start to form from them along with a rhizome then leaves.
