I have a 20 gal tank planted its only a couple weeks old my plants have brown alge on them the fs says it just a cycle and will clear up in a couple of weeks just wanted to know if its true. Thanks Pat. Oh found it in a previous post so I have another question can I take my plants out and wipe them or will this screw up cycle and or hurt the plants. Looks so darn ugly lol.

As mentioned, it will clear up in time. The algae is actually diatoms that feed off the silica in the water from the silicone that is used to seal the tank and is normal for new tanks. You can take it out and remove it but until the silica is all gone, it will only come back. It's best to just let it run its course. It's not bad for the fish (if you have any yet). Usually a little more light will get rid of it too but then you run the risk of another type algae emerging.

Thanks I was planning on adding some ottos anyway so thanks everyone. :)
