Since i upgraded the 2x25watt incandescent bulbs in my main tank to 2x13 watt compact flourescent blubs, there's been a lot of brown algae forming on the inside of the glass which i'm scrubbing off every few days. If i get some snails, would they help control it?

My tank is already going to be crowded as i've got a load more baby zebras to put in there, so MORE fish aren't really an option  Just wanted to check if snails go for brown algae as well as green

Snails will add to the bioload as well, they poop alot. They will eat the algae but they would also like fresh veggies and would rather eat them over the algae.
