Fish Crazy
I took the plunge (Pardon the pun) and after spending much time communing with the fantails and the vt's at my favorite Aquarium Store (immaculate--healthy, happy fish--always), I decided on a royal blue guy who responded when I put my finger up to the cup. (The other ones mostly darted off--so I took a chance that it's the one for me).
He's set up in my beautiful new 3 gallon glass tank with heater and a beautiful, quiet filter and a blue, florescent light. Smooth turquoise stones on the floor --a flat-rock plateau-looking sort of thing (fake) on the floor to perch on and some nice silk plants spaced to give him some hiding places.
Had to go out briefly after I set him up in there, left the light off to give him a chance to acclimate himself, and lo and behold, when I returned later and hung with him for a little bit, he actually ate some dried blood worms!! Most bettas I've had don't eat for a few days when they arrive here.
After my recently deceased pal, Betta Boy, died after a week of not eating, it was such a delight to see my new fishie resident eating hardily!!
What's interesting or sad is how he bends his body to turn around when he's swimming back and forth (as if he's used to that awful tiny cup at the LFS.) But he really seems to be happy.
No pix yet, I'll work on it. Haven't decided on a name yet, I'm a little fearful, 'cause I get so attached, but I'm praying about it...
Thanks to you all for supporting me through my recent loss and my recent aquisition!
Love,
Wendy
