Hi Alan,
I to am an ex fish circuit gower, Nth england mainly Manchester to Hull type of thing. (Y.A.A.S) territory.
What's the circuit like today a lot of clubs are diminishing.
I've just been in contact with my old club again Bradford and they are still going after all those years, planning a reunion next year.
Are you a local fish club member.

Slow rearly, with over half of all the clubs closing down in the south with in the last 10 years.
I would like to strat a new club in my area, but I don't want to be the only person who would put the time into running something.
I just goto shows and stuff on my own not as a club member, but i just and to show new people what happens and if they enjoy meeting then to get people to goto club meeting as well.

Sadily to many people just want to keep fish and not understand why problems occour, but site's like this one work and get the intrested people going. i hope LOL

Was looking at hire of a room for a club meeting, £35 a nite, so need at least 10 members to pay the room costs alone. And not sure if i could even get that many members, so paying to talks and stuff would be impossible

Yeah! I know exactly what you mean to all the above points you've mentioned.
Different era I think nowdays Alan, kids with computers.
We went to a show every Sunday in the summertime, benched the fish and off to the nearest boozer. back for the auction, prize giving and de-benching. Many good memories for that time. You coud get anything you wanted fish or equipment wise just by forming new friendships and contacts. There was always someone who knew someone who had what you wanted. (thats how I got into Killifish)

Well just a little into livebearers, I run the largest site dedicated to livebearers but living in a flat with the wife dont leave much space for tanks LOL
But still got fish room with 50 tanks in storage

Ah....Families.
Had to get rid of most of my Killi tanks when she dragged us kicking and screaming into the country.
Spent most of my time in that old shed in the garden.
One day the phoenix will rise again.
I take it you'll be going to the BLA show then, a lot of the Killifish guys are into the BLA as well.

well their quite a few show's across the UK, just have to find them and lookinf on www.FBAS.co.uk is the main place.

Or if our in the US their quite a lot of shows still just know nothing about them, contact a local club to find out more.

I am in the US. Actually in the middle of the country where there isnt much fish stuff. I will certainly look for some shows and other stuff. I knwo you are from the UK but does anyone know a good link to find fish shows/events in the US? Thanks.
