Do bristlenose plecos hide a lot?

mine never comes out 0_o, but I've heard some people's plecs do get used to the idea - I only see mine when cucumber is in the tank and it's dark - but as soon as I move he rushes to his bogwood

i have 4 at the moment and i there are always 2 that i can see...some times they are all of them all the time in the front part of the tank...

Was he an adult when you got him??

I have one that I got at 5cm who has grown into a brave out and about sort but the one I got as an adult has taken a bit more time and the introduction of a moonlight to get some guts.
