Brisalnose Catfish

HI ALL.My nephew has two brisal noses male and female which keep breading.He has offerd me the mum and a couple of the babes.Will the mum be ok with my female brisalnose etc??

should be ok, i have kept females together before ,bit of fighting at first over territories but then they were fine together

If you have a good size tank they will find thier own patch in the tank, have plenty of caves ect.

Yeah, what sized tank do you have? I usually allow 15G per fish.

Isn't your tank only 15g James? With a gold nugget and some canal fish in it? And no heater? Last one to talk on overstocking methinks lol.

Yep - you can keep groups of females together, but keeping males together is only recommended in a large tank as they can be quite territorial

Personally though in your tank I'd recommend leaving the bristlenose, and getting some more of the same fish you have that are shoaling kinds (making your tetras/danios/rasboras into groups of 5). But then you might even be overstocked. Might be a good excuse to do some Ebay second hand bigger tank shopping

What the **** are you talking about?
My tank does have a heater, and the canal fish are in a different tank. I am currently cycling another tank for my GN.

Please get your facts right before you say crap like that.
