So I went to Savannah Ga for 5 days, and I showed my sister everything she needed to know about caring for my fish, even how to feed them. I am proud to say that when I returned, al of my tanks and fish were great! (minus one casualty but she was showing signs of old age and I knew it was a matter of time) Firs thing I did when I got home was check water parameters. 0 ammonia, 0 Nitrites, and 40+ nitrates on all tanks (doing water changes tomorrow, i am beat after a 13 hour road trip today). The only issue was the 65g...4ppm ammonia, 5+ppm nitrites....oh wait, that was my fishless cycle :p Glad to see after 4 days I have nitrites in there!

But anyways. thank you TFF. You guys have been great and given me enough knowledge to be able to teach my sister (who knows nothing of fish) how to feed, monitor, and even test the water! She had said my betta was acting funny, and then went on to tell me that the ammonia and nitrites were zero! I was so proud fo her!!

Just checking, not been following your fishless cycle, but why didn't you clone the 65G instead of cycling the 65G? I would have thought that you wouldn't have to cycle since you could have stolen enough media from your other tanks to get your new one ready.

Because I cloned the 75g and 55g off of my 40g and 10g. I don't want to take anymore media. Because I do not know what I am going to do with my 65g, fishless cycle gives me plenty of time to figure it out :p I did seed with some media to jumpstart it though. Plus, when I figure out my stocking, I can fully stock. The 75g and 55g, they were easy to insta-cycle because there are only 2 fish in the 75g and 1 fish in the 55g. The problem I will have now is watching water parameters when I increase the stock of my 55g because it is only cycled to the capacity of the 1 fish. Also, the 75g and 55g have only been going about 2 weeks. I didn't want to risk harming my newcomers by removing media.

All good reasons then, I'll get my coat  . I love the planning part of a new tank, I think I might follow your lead when it comes to getting next tank, just to give me extra thinking time.
