This weekend I'm heading to my grandparent's house to bring home my grandfather's old 29 gallon tank. He passed away about 6 months ago and I finally got word that my grandmother wants me to have his old tank. I'm excited because this tank is why I started keeping fish. I grew up watching his tank.
Anyway, a couple concerns with this tank. It is an old slate bottomed, metal framed tank. I know they are prone to leaks, what steps can I take to ensure it doesn't (not using the tank is out of the question).
It is also woefully overstocked with guppies. I mean packed to the gills (no pun intended) with around 70-100 guppies of all sizes. What the hell do I do with all those things!
