what foods would bring out nice blues and blacks for a jack dempsey and texas?

also, how can you get fish to breed? My male jack and female tex have been courting for weeks now and I want them to breed.

I dont condone the purposeful hybirdization of fish so I am going to move this.

but the answer to your question is food and water changes. I use a pellet that has 45% crude protien and do large water changes every thrid day.

Feed them with shrimp and if Salmon meat these are natural color enhancers. Hight protein pellets with less ash.

breeding ? let them do it you don't want to be hurry ... patience.

different light spectrums will also help to enhance certain colors , backgrounds , and substrate can also play a part .......but without a good , varied diet and regular partial water changes none of that really matters ..........
