wow, finally found a female guppy and i have am curently stablizing the bag in my ten gallon! so now i have both a male and a female guppy, the female has a black and white tail and the male has a pure black tail. cant wait to see the fry that turn out!! :hyper:

female has a medium dark gravid spot and the male is eyeing her!

Your female may already be pregnant so don't be surprised if the fry don't turn out the way you expected.
Female livebearers have the ability to store sperm from previous encounters for a few months so fry may be an assortment of colours at first.

i dont mind... but i am not allowed to "save" any of the fry, but i guess the best hiders will survive! They share a tank with zebra danios.

anyone have any good names for the dalmation coloured female?

Good stuff m8 :)

as stang said: the female will be pregnant already more than likely, so if you wish to breed her with your male, you will have to see her drops out for at least 5-6 months before you can be sure that the fry are his..

Females store sperm packets for up to 6 months (8 is possbile) but 6 is average :)

JUst one more thing m8, you can be sure your fry will rarely survive with those frogs in your tank, they eat your fry, i know there only small but they do like to eat fry as mine mucnhed them all time (little buggers lol)

really? i find it hard to believe since the frogs mouthes are little smaller than the fish's

what am i taking out of what? i am confused1

IM not trying to pester you about your tank, but it's over stocked. You have 6 Zebra Danio's, which should be in a 10g tank especially w/ guppies. Then you have 2 guppies. Then you have a Common Pleco. Plus you have 2 african dwarf frog's, and 1 cory. Cory's need to be in groups of 4 +. If you take out you danio's, pleco, and trad ethem in for some more cory's you tank will be maxed out. Then, if your trying to breed, it is advised to get another tank to put fry in as the frogs will eat the new borns. Plus the parents might try to take a chunk outta them. The cory's should leave the babies alone though.

Personally i dont think your overstocked, depends on your filter system, water changes, feeding amounts etc..

The pleco will out grow the tank though so will need rehoming one day..

plec bottom dweller, corys bottom dwellers, frogs (not worth counting on stocking but thats my personal opinion)

6 danios and 2 guppys have enough room in ther i personally think as they are mid and top swimmers.

i am rehoming the pleco in the future and my corys on his last leg (metaphoricly of corse) so i am hoping to convince my mom to allow some of the fry to be seperated and placed back into the comunity tank once thay are bigg enough.

or just let her watch them get eaten... she will feel bad and probably try to save them.lol

at the moment i am neather allowed to purposly save fry or do i have room for them. put i plan to add some java moss to give the babys some cover.

i agree with 5teady, i dont really count the frogs, they are about half an inch each.

good news, my male being the player he is, is darting around the female poking his head near her anal fin! she has a gravid spot but because she is clear coulered body it is always their. no swolen stomach.

do you think i will soon have fry???
