Bright Yellow Community Fish Ideas?

My boyfriend is after a bright yellow fishfor our community tank. He would like any bright colour to be honest but keeps mentioning yellow. He's drawn to the tangs in the shop but marine is not something I wish to attempt.
We have danios, red tail shark, a plec, neon tetras, a few Plattys and some guppys. Also three apple snails. Does anybody know of any bright fish that would fit into our tank? It's 5ft so we have space but would prefer nothing too big.

Rainbowfish such as Bosemani sound like a possibility, the tank is big enough for a 6+ group, depending upon the temperature and pH of the water.

What "danio" species is in the tank? Depending upon your answer, a male Golden Wonder Killifish could be another option, but these fish are oportunist predators that will eat small fish (which may help control your livebearer population).

not quite yellow but a pair of gold or red spotted severums would be nice

or a banded headstander mine is very yellow with black stripes.

Saw some beautiful bright yellow swordtails in a shop yesterday. Bit bigger than a platy etc but not too enormous.

Apisto cichlids come in some pretty bright colours and are a dwarf species so don't get big.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'll be googling away this instant. With regards the Cichlid suggestion; I thought they had to be in a species only or semi-aggressive set up? Am I wrong, would they be ok with my gentle community?
