bright green algae!!!

hi folks,
wonder if anyone can tell me how to get rid of this brigt grren sort of mossy algae i am getting on the my tank, just on the gravle and small rocks, nothing on plants or big rocks etc, and as i say it is seriously green!!!, like it is radio active or somehting, lol

any help would be well appreiciated

It might be wise to get some algae eaters if you have the room in your tank, is the tank in direct sunlight and do you over feed.
 
Sounds like it could be blue/green algae (cyanobacteria). Check this link out and see if you can identify it.

wilder i dont over feed, and it isnt in direct sunlight all the time but maybe in the morning with the sunlight coming through the window etc,

iggy thats the one mate thanks for that, i think i will do a big water change to see if it helps at all, cheers lads

If it's blue green algae (cyanobacteria) there aren't any algae eaters that will eat it. In actuality, it isn't even algae but a bacteria. Unfortunately, it is very hard to get rid of.
