Breeding!

Harsh is sometimes the only way to get people to listen :good:

The op was told over a month ago about keeping them together and that they were well over-stocked in their community anyway, but, they didn't even bother coming back on that thread to answer?? Obviously didn't get the replies they were hoping for?

It makes me laugh when people ask for advice, then dissappear, pop up a month or so later having not listened to anything...............perhaps they dont realise you can look at their previous posts???

I first started fish keeping last dec, and had issues and problems from horrible advice from lfs, but I learned here at fish forums, and got great advice, and read tons of info, online and in books. I now consider myself a fairly reasonable fish keeper. but if you havent done the research and cant take advice...well then your a goober and will end up with dead fish.

azul, you are always saying the things Im thinking.

well we are identical twins lmao!

FOR REAL??? :hyper:

yea the drunkin lord of the swans was putting a overhang on the horse shed today at like 12 noon, i got tired just watching him and handing nails up!!!! baa why dose the crazy alway pick the hotest time of the day to do anything! haha

I am breeding HELLO. They have done the embrace just a few minutes ago I already have a bubblenest full of white eggs. I'm waiting a little to pull the female out because only about the size of a coin is filled with eggs. Both male and female are spitting the eggs in the bubbles so I dont really know why you guys think I need to seperate them... I'm gona go buy food and jars soon, just wanted to make sure they would at least give me some eggs first..

But anyway i'm quite happy I got eggs already and i'm carefully observing now to decide when to remove the female.

ERM HELLO ARE U STUPID!!

to breed bettas, u need to make sure u have a tank in which the fry can grow out in, clearly u do not have this

u were also told that u shud seperate the male and female with immediate effect, they cannot be kept together unless breeding, which clearly they are not ready for as you have not conditioned them, u also do not have any live food for the fry, so u will have dead fry, how very SELFISH of u

people like u annoy me, u come here for advice, u get it, and then u ignore it

It's not often I lose my rag but this is the most idiotic thing I've heard of in ages. One minute they're in a community tank and the next they are being spawned with no food prepared or anything   I really pity these poor fish

And I doubt whether the Op will be back because they don't want to hear the advice they have been given (more fool them)!!!!!

In the words of Newfishy...........a right Goober is quite accurate!!!!!

I got a cup of tinny brine shrimp and liquifry from the lfs, and I did seperate them shortly after, and I do have plans to get a 29gallon soon. The female is in a healer tank right now. I have been taking in your advice but I just started off too quickly not knowing what I had to do but I think i'm maybe on the right foot now...

by "tiny brine shrimp" do you mean ones you can see and clearly make out as brine shrimp? if yes then well done! ytou have just killed your babbies... they need newly hatched brine shrinp larvae which are bearly visable to the naked eye.

at the very least get ahold of "betta starter",its a dry food specialy formulated for baby betta. liquifry will foul up the water and the fish will not eat it. unless its moving like live food, baby betta willnot touch it.

mine eat liquid fry but yes it can foul the water if not doled out by an experenced fish person, no more then 1 drop at a time bout 3 times a day, they eat it and it seems to give the infoisioum a boost,, more little bug food for babys, they live on live plants, maby you could get a clean, clean as in prepackaged not in a comunity tank at the fish store live plant, and get that 29 gal asap, a week maby 2 is all i would let them in the 5 gal.

i know we all got on your case, but it was only in the intention of the well being of the fish, most of us on here have dealt with the lose of fish for no good reason and putting them in a stressful situation only adds to the danger of them dying, just take the critizem witha grain of salt, when i first started keeping bettas , i did the same thing as you, got some bad advice from a lfs and lost a whole bunch of fish and got no babies for a couple months,,,,yes i know i was a bad fishey parent!

but after getting on this site and getting good advice from the breeders and other experenced fish people all my guys are healthy and i have 2 gorgous batches of fry! all good things come to thouse who wait, next time just read up and prepare a little before you start out :good:

the critisizm stems from the fact the OP came on and asked advice, was given it and blatently ignored it and did what they wanted to do (regardless of fish welfare).
