Hey there, I currently Have a male guppy in a community tank, it is well planted and has driftwood etc, and I was thinking about adding 2 females, and making an attempt to breed (as I have never done this before) would 2 females be fine with the male or would they end up getting chased around 2 much?

also what other fish are easy/semi easy to breed?

cheers,

i would poss go for 3 females, but then thats an awful lot of fry that u will have to deal with @ average 30x3 every 6 weeks

tho maybe you could let nature takes it course and not put the prgnant females into a net when they are about to drop.

platys are very easy too, same problem tho lots of fry
mollies are the same :)
and you wouldnt need to "do" anything, they just breed like rabbits

i also found that 3 females per male were a good mix - the females got less stressed that way
also if you quite heavilly plant your tank you can do survival of the fittest and then only get the strongest babies survive and not be over run with them

my guppys and platys did about 60-80 babies each every 4 weeks

mollies have larger broods

I have platys now, but only 2 females and one male. Would you recomend getting another one? Probably just going to let the fry be in the tank, it has enough hiding spots for a decent number to survive. -_-

yes get one more female hun then it will stop the male exhausting the 2 females in there but you'll still have plenty of babies

I can probably go out tomorrow. A store near me has 'tiger platys'. It's the only place I've seen them.
