Breeding Tank Setup

Hi,
i'm looking at getting this 55 gallon main tank:
Rena Aqualife 100 x 40

and am getting two 12 gallon breeding tanks to go with it..

what filter system do you think i should get for the breeding tanks?

was thinking about either the rene filstar IV2 or IV3 internal filters

would that be suitable? or is there something else? is it possible to get one larger extranal filter for both smaller tanks?

also what else should i put in the breeding tanks? gravel or bare? plants? extra air pump/air stone?

hi again,
or would small baby fish get sucked into the filter system? how do i avoid that?
