Hi. Just in advance, I apologize if I write a book, as it's a long story.
It starts out with me cleaning my room (not a joyful experience), and Mom agrees to take this chair of mine and put it in the sewing studio. There are some very nice, waist height bookshelves in the attic, so I'm going to take them down into my room, clean them off, and use them to store my surplus of books. I have no idea of when this will happen, as the day after tomorrow I will be off to an orchestra camp. Anyway, I want something to go on top of the shelves, and just like pretty much every where in our house, this is prime (unused) fish tank housing! I've decided against a big community tank, as during large water changes and cleaning I don't want to soak my books. Then I discovered there is rumored to be a rise in popularity for the Betta among hobbyists in the fall that will be here to stay. Also, I read that the rewards are great if you win a fish show. Plus, I just like Bettas. So I'm thinking that on top of my new shelving unit, there could be some Bettas in their Betta-tanks. So, what I would like to know for breeding show Betta, is:
1) Can I mix and match breeds? Or will that produce an un-showable mixed breed
2) How many Bettas should I plan for?
3) Which of these varieties of males do you think I should get
Crowntail Male Betta
Half Moon Male Betta
Green Mask Betta
4) Do you know of any Betta shows near Portland, Oregon?
This post will now be available out in hardcover in a bookstore neat you!!! L.O.L
