have bought a female and a male, but quite small a young to go in a 3ft tank with 6 tiger barbs and 2 zebra loaches....would like to breed them at some point. Would this be enough, or would I need a third female?
Anything I should look to do??

Think Rams are monogamous so 1m 1 f is probably best. Personally Teger Barbs might be a bit too aggressive for successful breeding, personally the biggest fish I keep with Rams are cardinals, otherwise they just eat the eggs as they know they will not be able to raise them.

I havnt had much luck with breeding them in a community, so I am going to put them in their own tank

rams choose one partner and stick with it like most cichlids.

If you only offer the male or female one choice, you risk not getting any results.é It is better to offer the mal a group of females so he can pick a partner then return the other females, or keep them if the tank is big enough. (at least 20-30 gallons for the breeding couple)
