Hello. I've got 2 pregant platties and 1 int he process of becoming pregnant.
very exciting. :-
anyway. I just went and put a little tank on layby for when the babies are due.
It's about 16"L by 8" W by 8" H. What ever water capacity that works out at. I can't remember maths.
Anyway. MY spare heater which I wanted to use is the same as the one in my 3'/200L tank. IT's a "AquaClear" 150w. The length of the heater, from where power cord connects to the bottom is about 12/13". Is this too big :dunno: .
Please tell me b4 I put my fishies in. I don't want to cook them!!!
:fish:

Even if it is too big length wise, that goodness that they have a way to adjust the temperature. Just put it on a low setting where they wont get cooked.

It's 4.4 gallons.

I would not use it. If it breaks, it could boil your fish. A better choice would be to get a really small, and therefore really cheap, heater. Rather, 2 of them in case one breaks. It's up to you, though you shouldn't need it all that much just yet seeing as how it's summer.

hello. thankyou for your advice :D . where i am, in new zealand, it's very much winter time. 8)
I've got my heater in my little tank now. It seems to be fine. I'll have to keep an eye on it for a while though. It's keeping the tank at around 28 -29'C. It's light just isn't on and off as long as my big tank.
Thankyou again for your advice :fun:
