Hello all,
Can someone tell me why my dempsey eggs always disapear? ???? They have bred 4 different times now, and each time on the third day all of the eggs are gone. By day two, all of the eggs are white. I realize that these eggs are bad and will not hatch, however, I cannot figure out why this happens. Is the male sterile, or is he just not fertilizing the eggs? There are 2 males in the tank now. Any advice would be appreciated.

It could be a fertility problem. Sometimes harder water causes problems witl the outside of the egg, making it prone to fungus. First try reducing the filter flow, sometimes this helps with the male fertilizing. Adding a little Maroxy to the water will help to prevent fungus, acrifavine & methelyne blue can also be used, but they tend to stain silicone and air lines.
