so sebastian, my male betta, is currently in the breeding tank wiht my female Sophie and he's not building a bubble nest.... when should he ?
he' s only been in there for about an hour.....he's not even flaring at her anymore..... so any help?

did you condition them both first for at least 10 days
was the female in a chimney first
you dont release her until he's made a nest

sorry hun bit hard to give the right help until i know what you have done with them - conditioning , chimney , how were they introduced , water level , temp , etc

they were conditioned for 14 days....
the male was put in the breeding tank first...
and yes she was in a chimney first

Hi, you would need to let him build a bubble nest first, you say he has been in the tank 1 hour? he should have been conditioned in this tank for 2 weeks to allow him to claim the territory and get used to it as his and then the female introduced in the chimney for a day or two to get used to him, he should have built a bubble nest already, if not the sight of a female should encourage him to do so, is there plenty of plant cover and half a poly cup for him to nest under?
