I have 2 male guppies that are leopard colored and i have 2 females, one red and one blue. I just put them together and im hoping for some fry! I only have a 10 gallon tank and what should i do once the fry is born? Thanks

Just add some big clumps of fine leaved plant (Java moss and cabamba are great for this) so the fry have plenty of hiding places. Some might get eaten by the bigger fish, but you'll have plenty that don't.

Makes sure you do good, large, regular water changes to keep the fry growing well :good:

I started breeding guppies a few months ago, i started with a 60ltr tank, i now have a 140ltr, a 75ltr and a 35ltr. My adults are in the 140ltr, new fry are in the 35ltr and the older fry in the 75ltr.

You will probably end up with quite a lot of fry, one of mine gave birth in the big tank last week and 14 survived (the rest were eaten), i was quie happy to find that many.

Would thick clumps of rotala work? And the gravel is very large (each rock being around 1.5-2.5 cm) so there are a lot of crevaces

rocks are a good way to allow fry to survive, i allow my guppies to give birth in the tanks and let natyre take its course for about 2 weeks then the survivers i put into a new cycled tank until they become adults themselves. rocks also will promote algae growth as they will provide attachment but dont worry yout fry, guppies an if you have one your pleco will keep this controlled. Breeding guppies is fun and rewarding but if your gunna be serious about it, it can be very labouring and time consuming
