I have decided to breed red dalmation mollies and red fire, yellow tux, and blonde tux guppies in a 20 us gallon tank with a couple platies in there and I have decided to breed red dalmation mollies in a 29 with 7 cory catfish. Right now I have 2 males and 1 female guppies in the 20 us gallon I know I definetly need to get more females, but I thought they would be ok for one night and I have 1 male and 2 females mollies in the 29. My question is that since I am going to my lfs today I was wondering how many more mollies and how many more guppies should I get and what sex should they be?

I try to keep my ratio of one male to two females. So since you have two male guppies already I'd get atleast 3 more female guppies. And if you want more mollies, I would get one more male and 2 or 3 more females. But once the guppies start breeding your tank will fill up pretty quick, do you have any plans for what to do with the guppies if you don't have more room. My mom has a little 5 gallon that she got guppies in, and that's ok for 3 guppies or so, but they keep breeding so I got her a 29 gallon to put the babies in.

My lfs has lots of guppies, but they told me that they were looking to get a couple new guppies. I said that I was going to breed some red varieties of them and they said if they dont get alot of guppies from other people they would take as many as I had as long as they are not inbred and they are healthy and grown up so theres that and the mollies my cousin and I are breeding so if the lfs doesnt want them or nobody wants them we have enough tanks to seperate and just put all the males in a couple tanks and the females in a couple different tanks so they will be seperated

Mollys don't come in red at all but swordtails do and female mollys and swordtails look very similar so its easy to get them mixed up but just remember mollys dont come in red ;) .
How many platys and guppys do you already have each tank as its confusing trying to figure it out from your post?
I strongly suggest you read up on livebearer breeding and good stocking in the pinned artciles at the top of the livebearer section as they will answer all your questions and more :) .

yeah sorry about the post. When I said red dalmation they arent really actually red they are actually just have black and orange spots here is a pic to see what they look like http://www.petsolutions.com/Images/200/11750.jpg Right now I have 6 platys and 3 guppies in a 20 us gallon tank, and I have 3 mollies and 7 albino corydoras catfish in a 29 us gallon tank.
