ok so about 2 days ago my male started building his bubble nest, he has been adding alot of bubbles to it today aswell. Most of the time he spends flaring up at the female, or flaring up under his nest. He seems to go out and look for the female but ends up jsut chasing her about, is she not ready? or is this the normal. I did notice at one point the female was under the nest with the male and the male was swimming sideways under her in a circle, then he ended up chasing her off.

im just wandering what the next step is? is this normal? does the male just keep chasing the female untill she gives in.

thanks for the help.

from what ive seen, the male will always drive the female away

when shes ready and likes the nest, she tries to sneak up on him without him noticing and then if successful, nips his side so he almost rolls over and embraces her, but for some reason if she rouses his suspicion he'll chase her off

its quite amusing to watch really

today it looks like there is less bubbles in the nest, he is still around it and guarding it. I havent seen him add any bubbles to it mabe he has given up. Does the female always have eggs? if not is it possible to tell if she is carrying or not?
