hi all

ive got a male and female convict and they are always digging big holes in the gravel i herd they do this wen they are breeding but ive never seen any babys

well anyway i want to breed them now so if anyone could give me any info or gd web sites on breeding them that would be great

thanx alot

I can help in saying, do you have any other fish in the tank? If so they'll be killed by the parents unless they're huge. Do you have a place to sell the convicts to? I know not many stores wont accpet them because they're hard to sell.

ok thanx cichlidlovr

i will check that out

and they are alone in the tank and also i have homes for any that make it already

o yea and how comes my convicts keep digging in the gravel even though there are no babys??

thanx

cichlids dig and move gravel alot, just something they do, my fish have mounds of gravel outside of their caves, not a single stone left in the cave hahaha they like to rearrange things, maybe they have laid eggs but one of them ate the eggs, if they are still very young sometimes it takes them a little time to get it right, my convicts have tons of babies, but at first it took them awhile before they figured out not to eat the eggs and to guard the babies lol give them time they will have babies for you :) I wish you the best of luck

oh almost forgot, do you have caves in your tank? they love to have a cave or two to hide in they will also spawn in a cave, usually they will adhere their eggs to the inside of the cave, a clay flower pot turned on it's side with a piece of rock or slate in front of it to make the opening smaller works great as a cave :)
