'breeding Bullnose Cichlid'

Hi, my mother in-law was given a breeding pair of bull nose cichlids, they laided their eggs and they hatched yesterday!! One of her friends has a breeding pair of bullnoses as well but when ever they have babies they look after them for a few days and then eat them.

When they had the second lot of babies her friend took the parents out and just left the babies by them selves, they were fine for about 2 weeks and then they just up and died.

So my mother in-law wants to know wether to take the parents out or just leave them there, she is a novice with cichlids so any info on breeding bullnoses and raising thier fry would be greatly appreciated!!!

What's a bullnose cichlid? Do you know any other names for it?

yes PLEASE just what kind of a fish is this? I've searched and NADA comes up under that term....
bullnose sounds more like an affliction..

I have no idea what the scientific name is I have searched google and all other resourses but can'f find it, she has since taken the parents out of the tank, because they started to eat them but the babies are doing fine!!
On the other hand mum is stressing over them she is swimming up and down the glass like a mad hatter!!
