Ok i'm completely new to breeding bettas and need some help. At the moment I have three females and one male. Looking at some guides on the internet I've got one of the female bettas in a reasonable size rectangular box, sectioning it off from the male. My tank is about 80L and I also have some other community fish in there. So to re-cap, I've got one female betta sectioned off from the male. Where do I go from here? Thanks.

you cannot breed bettas in a community tank, they need to be placed in a shallow tank (around 10 gal is fine) then conditioned for around 2 weeks on live foods.

The mosty important thing with breeding bettas is research and preparation, do you have space to individually seperate 100 males? cause thats what you could end up with

Is that the only way of breeding them? Can they not do it sort of... Naturally in a normal community tank? Sorry for my lack of knowledge lol.

I've been told that about four females should be kept to one male lol.

Ive tried to breed bettas before. You have no idea what you are getting into. It takes alot of time and money. Im talking hundreds. Andf now Im stuck with a bunch of bettas that refuse to breed. The male needs to make a nest then you need to release the female. They will then "hug" and the eggs will drop from the female. when she is done then you need to take her out. There is really to much to tell. you need to do ALOT of reaserch. This is way harder that u probably think it is.

unless you have a way of getting you fish you breed to new homes dont breed fish you could end up with 100 or so fish you cant keep,
