Hi again....Ive been told on this forum and by other people that bettas is a good fish to breed.Ive bred livebearers before and there just boring to breed now.The only problem i got about breeding bettas is that if i kept the males in jars the the water temp would be about 16 :/ ,becasue thats the heat in my house.I live in england if you hadnt of guessed...lol.And fitration is about of a concern because i dont want to be scrubbing hundreds of jars  .So if any of you betta lovers know any good info about my problems please let me know :D . :good: cheers :good:

Bettas are as good as any other fish to breed. Why do you breed? As a hobby, for profit? If your in it to make money dont choose bettas, cause you wont. You can make some money but its hard to make profit.

16 what? C, F? Im assuming you mean 16 degrees Celsius. And thats to cold for bettas. They wont die, but they wont spawn in a tank that cold and that temp will stunt the growth of the fry. 27 degrees celcius is what bettas should be kept at.

Scrubbing betta tanks, jars, bottles is just a crappy part about, but really theres not another way to do it.

Im not trying to sound so negative, but your not giving me much to work with. Maybe some fancy goldfish are better for you. Good luck.

i think you got it abit mixed up.What i mean is i cant heat up all the jars.I have 2 spair tanks with heaters and filters.Im doing it for a hobby not for money. What other fish could i breed then apart from livebearers.

Have you thought about killifish? They are more interesting than livebearers, well , more of a challenge anyway. BigC is the man to ask about these fish. Perhaps if you are interested, post on the oddball part of the forum.
