I recently got a pair of apistogramma agazzizi. They are too small to breed now but I'm planning to grow them out and breed them. Can I breed them in my community tank and then take the fry out? What water requirements do they need? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Are they wild caught or captive bred?

Wild caught need a pH below 7.0 and a GH below 50ppm to breed.
Captive bred, pH below 7.5 and a GH below 100ppm.

They might breed in a community tank but it depends on what else is in the tank. Best results (most babies) are achieved when the pr have a tank to themselves. A tank that is 2 foot long is suitable for a pr.

I'm pretty sure they are captive bred. I'm planning to spawn them in the community tank and take the babies out. How long do they need to reach sexual maturity, about 6 months or?
