breeding age for platys??

hi. can you help! at what age will platys breed? I have 2 adult golden females and 2 young mickey mouse platys 1 female 1 male which are about 1/2 to 2/3 the size of the adults.
the young male follows the two adults like a shadow, but the females dont seem to take any notice of him,its quite funny to watch him showing off.

I beleive it is near the three month mark, most people ask to separate them as soon as you spot a gonopodium.

Basically they are capable of breeding as soon as the male platys develope their definning sexual organs so if you can easily distinguish the genders of your platys they are ready for breeding. The females may take a bit longer to actually start showing interest in the male but they are capable of breeding
