Self explanitory in the title, im looking for ne that can provde good water circlulation, and double as a isolation unit in the tank.

I have never bred fish but I do have a breeder box that attaches to the inside of the tank with suction cups. I bought to be used as an isolation unit as you mentioned and it works well.

I use an extra tank for the fry as it gives them the most room and isnt stressful or hazardous, If you are going to get a breeding trap I have heard that the mesh nets are better than the plastic, Supposedly, some fry get injured or stuck in some of the plastic ones...Good luck :good:

okay...
thanks , ill do beleive ill get a net then, or perhaps i could try making something that has larger mesh and seperated so fry can escape for the mother in the net as the net leaves me ot wonder, what if hte mother eats hte fry?

If I were into breeding, I think I would use a 5 or 10 gallon tank too. They're relatively inexpensive and as mentioned, offer a lot more room.

lol all the equipment is sittingin my drawer, ac 20/mini, numberous airpumps, gravel, and thats about all lol....
Somethign similar to the words of Homer Simpson.. You're the kids, we're the parents...something like that...

No more tanks? Set up a small Rubbermaid type bin, it just needs to hold a few gallons. It's not a tank.

ive gota huge one in my closet lol, but my dad will go whers hte fish, its jsut so that at least a few fry survive and growup though no serious breeding lol

Breeder nets are nice for holding fry and for fish that are aggressive and need to be put in the naughty container. However breeding boxes are nice for isolating fish that may possibly have a disease or problem. There are pros and cons to both. Depends on what exactly your looking for.

Two seperate issues here
1. fry tank/net breeder will have water circulation yes, but risks desease if kept in main tank
2. Total seperation tank, for desease/quarantine. given own equipment.

Price - space over risk factors.

Seperate tanks are best, for livebearers I would utilise plastic pan scrubs unfurled and en mass to cut down mortality rates.
