HI, JUST REGISTERED THIS MORNING. THIS FORUM IS GREAT- SO MUCH INFO. IN ONE PLACE. I HAVE 3 MALE BETTAS, ONE FEMALE, TWO AFRICAN DWARF FROGS, NUMEROUS WHITE CLOUD MOUNTAIN MINNOWS AND 2 PANDA CORYS. OH, AND MADLY JEALOUS OF THE AFOREMENTIONED CREATURES IS MY WEST HIGHLAND WHITE TERRIER, SHELBY. SHE WAS AN ONLY CHILD UNTILL THEY CAME ALONG. LIKE MANY OTHERS I FREQUENTLY RUN MY HOUSE PLAN THRU MY MIND AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHERE I CAN PUT A NEW TANK. HOPEFULLY WHERE MY HUSBAND WON'T NOTICE THAT THERE IS YET ANOTHER TANK. I SPEND HOURS IN PET STORES WINDOW SHOPPING. ANYWAY, HI TO ALL AND I AM GLAD I FOUND THIS FORUM.

Hi Nene, Welcome to the forum. As my distinguished colleague says, don't shout. By that he means it's rude to type all in block capitals. In e-mail terms it is known as shouting and is considered rude. I'm sure you were unaware of this. It just seemed to stand out, I know. Anyway you do have a treasure trove of animals. I'm not Nene, but I have 2 African Dwarf frogs also, and so far, (I've had them for like 2 1/2 to 3 weeks...haven't had to change the water yet in my 10 gallon tank) they have not made it stink. In fact, my tank smells better with them in it than it did when all I had in it was one Molly.

Hi again! No my african frogs do not stink. I have never noticed any odor comming from their tank.I don't use gravel and I siphon out the bottom once a week. My daughter used to have an african clawed frog and he was a big eater and messer and his bowl did stink. My frogs were pretty boring at first and hid alot. I have had them about 2 months now and just lately, since they have gotten bigger, they are more outgoing and less afraid. I tried to put my female betta in with them and she started attacking them. She is extremely aggressive tho so they are still by themselves and seem happy. They like lots of hiding places and quiet water.
