I'm starting a 5gal planted brackish setup which will soon house a single bumblebee goby. Right now I have a handful of mts, and a single wild guppy. Plants include dwarf chain swords, java moss, duckweed, banana plant, and hopefully today I’m picking up a few crypto wendtiis. It's completely freshwater at the moment, but soon as I introduce the bbg I’ll slowly change to about 1.003-1.005.

I’m curious of any inverts I could house safely with bbgs. Ideally I would love to find some shrimp which would reproduce enough to supply my goby with a fresh food source. Any suggestions are welcome; I really want a diversity of organisms!

Hopefully Nmonks won't mind me directing you to his FAQ page:

thanks a bunch! this was very helpful.

One last question, can red cherry shrimp be housed in brackish aquaria?

I'm curious as if the brackish water will affect their breeding. I have heard they can breed quickly and I hope this doesn't slow them down.

the amano shrimps apparently breed more often in low brackish systems.
