I have a 55 gallon tank with a Rio (800 i think) power head, and a bio filter over the back for my tank. I am looking at getting a 20 gallon tank to put my 3 lyretail swordtails, 2 hi fin platys, some ghost shrimp, 2 sailfin mollies, a golddust molly, and 3 balloon mollies. I want to use my 55 gallon to experiment with different kinds of fish such as a flowerhorn. I live in a appartment, and am in college, so im trying to use the least amount of energy. Should i separate my tank with plexy glass (even though the flowerhorn may be too confined, and not be happy in the brackish water) or get a 20-30 gallon tank for my mollies?

well for one a flower horn is going to need a 55 for himself and i would get a 30 gal for your mollies that is a good tank size for them but take into account that flower horns can and will exceed 30cm therfore need quite a bit of swimming space why not try with some of the less larger ciclids like a jack dempsey or a uaru these fish would be great in a 55gal

Flowerhorns are freshwater fish. What sort of experiments are you planning on doing with it?
